Kuwait Raises Concerns Over Map Issue During Lecture in Cairo

The Kuwaiti embassy has raised concerns with relevant authorities in Cairo regarding a map of the Arab world that did not include Kuwait’s recognized international borders.
The issue arose when a lecturer displayed this map during a course attended by Kuwaiti officers. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement addressing the matter.
Issue and Clarification:
The incident involved using a map that omitted Kuwait’s recognized international borders, which prompted the Kuwaiti embassy to bring the matter to the attention of Egyptian authorities.
However, Egyptian authorities later clarified that the map used during the lecture was a genuine mistake made by the lecturer and should not be interpreted in any other way.
The session organizers also apologized to the attendees, emphasizing that they did not intend to offend the State of Kuwait.
Preserving Brotherly Relations:
Egyptian authorities emphasized that this incident should not harm the strong and brotherly relations between the two nations. The prompt clarification and apology aim to maintain the positive diplomatic ties between Kuwait and Egypt.
The incident highlights the importance of accurately representing international borders and symbols, especially in educational and official settings, to prevent misunderstandings and maintain harmonious relations between nations.
